Belinda van Rensburg The Medium

When I look back I can clearly see God's Hand protecting and guiding me Throughout my life; throughout all the years Edging me on in spite of my fears. Even while I was still lost to Him; Even though I was still bound by sin God was preparing; orchestrating; Sorting my life while He was waiting. As an example I'd like to tell Of the time when a demon from hell Spoke through a medium who claimed she 'knew' Many things I was going to do. 'This' and 'that' was going to happen; On and on that wom… Continue

Joseph J. Breunig 3rd Poem: Outside the Windy City

Outside the Windy City lives the Lady Finnegan - Carol dearly loves the Lord Jehovah and is a part of His earthly plan. Her heart has been pierced by God's Holy Spirit; for she placed her life before Him and has chosen to submit. Her adoration for the King has burst forth with heart's joy, from reading her great nephew's literature within the borders of Illinois. Now she's become God's messenger via her gifts of Joe's Christian poetry - For the fragrance of God's Love envelopes her with scrip… Continue

Belinda van Rensburg Night Lights

Silvery white shines the lighted moon As it dances to its lone cosmic tune. Bright rays turning darkness to light - Oh, what a marvellous, glorious sight! Glimmering stars on their nightly flights Shimmer and shine as they brighten our nights; Gently; softly sliding through space, Moving in unison at a set pace. On Earth we are the moon and the stars - Shining God's Light to all souls behind bars; Lighting up this dark, sinful place Encouraging others to seek God's Face. © 2009 by BelindaContinue

Belinda van Rensburg Blessed Storms

During stormy weather Clouds seem to lose their glow; Gathering together They darken Earth below. The leaden sky explodes; Rain pelts the ground with force Threatening to erode The soil without remorse. Clouds rumble, roil and moan; Lights split the sky in two; Earth's creatures hide and groan Birds bid the air adieu. Though dark clouds hide the sun; Though they are glum and gray - Without them we're undone For they send life our way. They're smiled on by the Son He formed; sent each of them… Continue

Joseph J. Breunig 3rd Behind the Poem: Game Theory

Now that people are becoming more aware of my poetic efforts, interests are being expressed regarding the background of my poetry - in addition, to my spiritual muse. Back in the Spring of 1980, I graduated from the University of Southern Maine with a B.A. in Mathematics. I chose this discipline because it was my favorite subject in school. This poem is the first and only piece (to date), where I apply this learned knowledge. Back in February of 2007, I found a poetry contest - its challenge wa… Continue

Belinda van Rensburg Who Is He?

Who is this Jesus Whom you love - a babe upon some straw Whilst wise men bow down low to worship and adore? Do you perhaps envision Him walking upon the Earth; The quiet, gentle Teacher who came by virgin birth? Yet then, again, at times is He the Lamb upon the cross Maimed, broken, hurt and dying - God's sacrifice for us? Yes, it is true, Jesus the Christ was born in Bethlehem; He once lived upon the Earth amidst the sons of men. Then at the end when it was time He gave His life for us; He,… Continue

Belinda van Rensburg Follow the Leader

I watched a film the other day About a man who went away - One day he simply upped and walked; He looked not at the sights nor talked But kept on moving through each day And from his course he did not stray. Quite soon he was joined by others; They bonded and became like brothers. Though that man never did explain They followed blindly just the same; They never asked 'where to' or 'why' But trudged along through wet and dry. Then came the day that he just stopped; He turned around and their ho… Continue

Joseph J. Breunig 3rd Behind the Poem: Spiritual Irony

Now that people are becoming more aware of my poetic efforts, interests are being expressed regarding the background of my poetry - in addition, to my spiritual muse. In this installment, I briefly look at the crucifixion of Christ - an event central to the core beliefs of Christianity. This poem was composed in February 2007, in anticipation of that year's celebration of Resurrection Sunday (Easter). If I were relegated to a single television channel, it would be the "History Channel". It's am… Continue

Joseph J. Breunig 3rd An interview with author J. J. Breunig 3rd

1. What caused you to write a book and have it published? Thankfully, I’ve enjoyed a career in IT (Information technology) for over 25+ years. However, I’ve been downsized out of a job four times – the last time in 2005, I was unemployed for nine months. During that time, I looked at over 19,000+ companies to find one job. With more jobs in my field being outsourced to lower wage earners overseas, I decided I needed an exit strategy from the corporate world to launch a more stable career and inc… Continue

Joseph J. Breunig 3rd In Remembrance of Grandma - Poem & Background

Now that people are becoming more aware of my poetic efforts, interests are being expressed regarding the background of my poetry - in addition, to my spiritual muse. In this installment, I share the background and poem "In Remembrance of Grandma". I recognize that most of you reading this article will not know much about my maternal Grandmother, other than what you're able to glean from this page. However, there are universal lessons that need to be shared. This poem was originally written for… Continue

Joseph J. Breunig 3rd Poem: Dust (Humor)

Those disembodied remnants, Earthly remains of unknown souls, are now assembled at my doorstep. Having piqued my attention, who are these unwelcome houseguests? Loved ones or Nordic heroes who were consumed in funeral pyres? How old are these molecules that have been forever scattered during these past centuries? Unwanted leftovers of human containers, eaten by microscopic mites, nibble at my presence and wait for my spirit to dry up. The dust calls for my fated demise; However, my particles won… Continue

Belinda van Rensburg I Am Grateful He Came

Long ago God sent His only Son To redeem us from the evil one; I'm sure even holy angels cried The day He was crucified and died. On that most bitter of days He shed Streams of His sinless Blood running red - Why did He do it? What did He gain? A beautiful bride without a stain. The brides-price was indeed very high; Thinking about it makes me want to cry; I hang my head in sorrow and shame - Humbled yet truly grateful He came. © 2009 by Belinda van Rensburg Continue

Jerry Caspell Gem of Light

Some people flicker, fly across my universe like shooting stars, so bright so brilliant, fleeting, they illuminate my life, so suddenly, exciting me, my soul shines forth, my heart intensely beating These glistening gems awaken something dormant, deep inside of me, awaken hopes I've lost, and joys I used to feel, and songs once silent sound once more, and petals to adorn my path are tossed Oh shooting stars, awaken me, and let me see your light Oh shining gems across my soul, illuminate my nig… Continue

Jerry Caspell Lasting Gift

In my neat little package of poetry With words wrapped in ribbons of rhyme I want to express, I want to confess I'm so glad you entered my time There is no mere chance or circumstance For a Guide across time and space Only invites us to the dance But we must choose to embrace So we're given the roads that cross To touch a time or two But making this gain or loss Is up to me and you And some touch on the surface And some pass in the night But some souls join in a deep caress And hold on long a… Continue

Jeff Bidiman Spirit Consultations (part II)

The Path Now as the bright day star decreased its burn, And the wheel of time revolved toward night, My relentless musings had more to learn. With wary words mixed into the twilight, I spoke carefully to the evening air, And though it was transparent to my sight, My longing eyes were seeking everywhere. Eagerly scanning the vanishing sky; Asking aloud "Spirit, are you still there?" "Be still" returned the voice in calm reply, "You have only to look for me deep inside. Your chamber of… Continue

Belinda van Rensburg My Brother; My King

My brother, Jesus, is older than me; Though we are both children it's plain to see That we're as different as chalk from cheese; I quarrel and fight; He advocates peace. While I am at play He wanders away Preferring to spend the cool of the day Talking to Himself (or so it may seem); A sensitive youth; a dreamer of dreams. We're young men now; both strong and tall He is so pure; I belong to the Fall. He never does anything sinful; bad He doesn't get jealous, nasty or mad. Oftentimes at our ca… Continue

Jerry Caspell A Sea Shell to Hold

Along the journey of my life Amidst the pleasures and the strife Many people have appeared And vanished in the wake As sea shells on the shifting sands Admired and cherished in my hands Then washed away by waves of fate Not mine to keep or take Forgotten gems upon the shore A mere remembrance, nothing more A moment’s joy and then they’re gone And life for me goes on Yet some I find and hold, and never Release my grasp, but keep forever Safe in my hand and heart they stay And never go away I… Continue

Jeff Bidiman Poet, Pen, and Page

The pen brings life unto the empty page, Yet it does not write of its own accord. We are nothing but a clay writing tool Seeking to write our lives upon the blank Pages of an undecided future. Father, guide this pen to fill these pages With words that are acceptable to you. Continue

Joseph J. Breunig 3rd Behind the Poem: Enjoy This Season

Now that people are becoming more aware of my poetic efforts, interests are being expressed regarding the background of my poetry - in addition, to my spiritual muse. In this installment, I share a blurb regarding my poem "Enjoy This Season". Lots of people like to surmise about the idea of living in a different period of recorded humanity, such as: Italy's Renaissance (circa 1400-1600 ad), the building of the Greek or Roman Empires, the time of Christ and so forth. However, not me. Being an I.… Continue

donna Thoughts From The Backyard Swing

beneath the peaceful towering oak we sleepishly glide through the breeze of twilight breathing in the last of cool summer air: quiet thoughts replenish my weary soul echoing come, sit, rest with me, untangle from the chaos of the day. the two of us, together, in moon-made silence watch evening settle over dusty distant fields; earth's parched dirt, rises up, crumbles the rose petal's fragrance dissipates with season's end; sounds of today whirl around me. I pause, listen, head bowed a child's sl… Continue
