Wondered how you were doing. I'm sure it's difficult for you. I can't imagine the pain. I know the Lord gives you comfort. So great to be with you again! May the Lord bless you!

Thank you for continuing to share your heartfelt poems, Jeannine! Perhaps you'd like to visit Kaylen's Write to Heal, dedicated to the memory of children who have died. A poem I wrote for a friend whose son died is on there, Treasuring the Memories.

Jeannine, I have visited your website and see some of the pain and broken dreams in your life, and your experience and strong faith come through in your poem, Broken Dreams. Bless you for sharing it!

Your welcome Jeannine, I too can't wait for spring. I hate the cold, and frankly think the snow is beautiful, but have had enough of it for a while. LOL!!!! God bless you, della

BROKEN DREAMS

How many times in a lifetime
Can dreams be shattered and broken?
How many times can a heart break
Without a word having been spoken

How many times must my heart be in pieces
And my spirit be brought so low
To be buried in obscurity and sadness
Not knowing how much further it can go

A lifetime full of broken dreams
A heart that is sore and aching
A spirit hiding behind the wall of pieces
A wall of its own making

Yet in the distance a voice is heard
Come all who labour and are heavy laden
And I will give you rest
So I go as I am bidden

For it is my Saviour calling me
To come out from the burden of grief
For He was known as a Man of sorrows
And in Him I can find relief

For He surely has borne my grief and sorrows
He knows of a broken heart and wounded soul
He will walk with me and dry my tears
With Him I will be made whole

He has taken me by the hand
And with me He will walk this weary way
He has taken the pieces of my heart
And rebuilds it each time I pray

EVERY DAY’S A BATTLE

Every day’s a battle
As Satan seeks to destroy
Those who are unwary
His tricks he does employ

He gets inside your head
With thoughts that will depress
To make you feel unworthy
And add to daily stress

He will put up stumbling blocks
“Innocently” blocking your way
Adding to the depression
Til you feel you can’t even pray

The Apostle Peter wrote
To be vigilant and sober
For our adversary the devil
Is seeking whom he can devour

We need to stay in God’s Holy Word
And daily seek His face
Never ceasing, always praying
And depending on His grace

For the battle is not won
In just a single day
Against a tricky adversary
It is won every time we pray

WHY AM I PLAYING?

I wrote this one morning when I realized I was wasting my time just playing a video game. I know we sometimes need to relax but the purpose of getting up so early when no one else was up was not to play a video game but spend some time in God's word and in quiet fellowship with Him.

WHY AM I PLAYING?

Why am I playing?
I could be praying
Why is it so addicting
It should be conflicting

Why set my attentions
On something to pretentious
I should spend time with my Saviour
What’s wrong with my beh… Continue

THE JOURNEY

Not much to tell about this one, it is a journey we are all on.

THE JOURNEY

What is this journey we are on
That starts at the cross of Calvary
Where a Man shed His precious blood
Flowing from Him, a cleansing flood

Who is it that asks us
To turn away from sin
Who is it that dies on a tree
Out of love for you and me

He said He was the Son of God
Yet people despised and rejected Him
When given a choice they chose a murderer
Sending to the cross our Saviour

Why would He choose to die
When peop… Continue

THE HOUSE IS EMPTY

I wrote this again, shortly after Michael passed away and it is still so true, the house is still feeling very empty without him, sometimes my heart feels that way too, but thank the Lord, He is there to comfort me.

THE HOUSE IS EMPTY

The house is empty without your smile
And all we did to go the extra mile
Your love for life and happy face
Now replaced by an empty space

Slowly your things disappear
All the reminders you were here
Teddy bears, books, clothes and things
All the little stuff th… Continue

A PEEK

I wrote this shortly after my little boy was called home to God, he would have been 12 this past December, he was special needs, could not walk or talk or do anything for himself, so he truly is in heaven running and laughing and singing.

A PEEK

These last few weeks
Have given me a peek
Of what Jesus went through
And dear Father, You too

Jesus was scorned and mocked
Yet to Him people flocked
He knew heartbreak and pain
Yet in the end He knew He would gain

You gave Your only begotten Son
To d… Continue
