Hello Gordon,

How exciting to hear that you have 'put pen to paper' and started to write again. That's just fantastic! That takes a lot of courage, and humility because when you write you open yourself up to input from others and also own what's inside you. So, don't beat yourself up for the way the poems look… just keep writing! It's all fairly new to me too, and so I realize how it can feel, but know you just have to do it in spite of how you feel. I look forward to reading some of your words sometime in the future. I wish I could share that it's spring here… but it's very late in coming this year.
Blessings to you and your family,
Lesley-Anne

Hello Gordon, Blessings to you!!!! Thank you for your input on depression and christians. You are right. I should have thought closer to people in the Bible. Job especially. Thank you!!!! I also think that it does help to read poetry to help improve writing it. I think that you may also be coming down a lil hard on yourself concerning it. I hope you will post the poem you have finally written after 30 years. You will see, words will start flowing more freely once you break the ice so to speak. God bless you and have a great day. In Christ always, Della

JOSHUA AT JERICHO

The judgement of God
results from the sin of man
as the Lord's righteous rule
always is seen to stand

The fear of God
is the right response to God's law
so as Joshua obeys God's voice
The walls of Jericho become like straw

The love of God
perfectly casts out fear
as Rahab the prostitute
is mercifully given the all clear

The wisdom of God
is always the correct counsel
as Joshua realised at Jericho
when it leads us to God's perfect will

The Glory of God
was seen here in delivering Jericho

THE BATTLE IN PRAYER

A Christian has free access
to speak to God on high
at anytime and anywhere
there's no need to be at all shy

God has made the way possible
that we can speak to God
because Jesus died on our behalf
but at times we feel a fraud

Why do we feel like this?
when we consider all God has done
but the old sinful nature
pulls us away from God's dear Son

This is the battle we face
on each and every day
As satin seeks to pull us down
our eyes must be on Jesus always and aday

PREPARATION FOR GOD'S DAY

God calls all his elect
To worship Him on His day
So we need to prepare ourselves
For this act come what may

We all have different ways
That this can be achieved
But we must come with humble hearts
For this to be believed

Praise and prayer is a good start
Also understanding God's word is a must
But reverence for almighty God
Does bring us to obey and trust

Finally the object of all this
Is that the Lord would appear
On His appointed holy day
So His will to us be absolutely clear

THE WORD OF GOD UNCHANGING

The word of God unchanging
The sure and certain sound
That holds it's followers together
In their battles all around

The word of God unchanging
Eternal in it's beginning
Sure to never end
Till the coming of the king

The word of God unchanging
It's faithful to the end
It's authority and majesty
Makes it such an essential friend

The word of God unchanging
Is with us from birth to death
It's our source of joy and strength
Even in our last dying breath

MAN LOVES DARKNESS

Darkness has covered people's minds
So they won't believe the gospel
The enemy holds them in His grip
Making faith seem impossible

Jesus said in John chapter 3
That man hates the light
But loves this world's darkness
So refusing God's love so bright

Scripture reveals man's deeds are evil
For they refuse to believe
God's offer of eternal life
Making God's heart to grieve

For God sent Jesus His son
To save this world from sin
This was not to condemn it
But to be it's restoration
