Yes, knowing how much God loves us is a comfort, but sometimes we need the comfort of a physical hug from someone we can see and touch. Your poem is very effective at conveying that need, Chris. Thanks for sharing it.

A mother’s love, Is such a pleasure to behold. A mother’s love, Is more valuable than gold. So when a mother dies. The world becomes much colder. For she’ll never truly be replaced If you’re your young or now much older. A cord that ran between tw…

"Sometimes when God inspires you to write something later you can go back and be reinspired by reading it!" Thanx - I hope that will be the case one day, but at present it still carries a slight "cringe factor" for me personally.

Thank God that He holds onto to us no matter what we do, and we can always turn back to be pulled from the quicksand. Sometimes when God inspires you to write something, later you can go back and be reinspired by reading it!

Profile Information

Hometown:
Bournemouth
About Me:
I`m generally very open and honest about how I think and feel about stuff. I prefer to "Keep it Real" rather than wear a mask. I don`t see myself as "the silent type" but if I do appear quiet - it`s because I have a limited ability at making small talk.

My FAVORITE TOPICS are:
1. Religious views and beliefs
2. Love and relationships
3. Female psychology!!
4. Hypnosis
5. The supernatural
6. Faith healing
7. Parenting
8. Poetry

I sometimes use poetry to express myself when I am very happy or very troubled, and I`m happy to share some of these with anyone interested.

I also have a much less serious side - which loves
to Party when ever its allowed the freedom to do so...

I prefer to have company most of the time - which is
why my job as a cab driver is a suitable vocation..
I certaintly get to meet every kind of person
imaginable which is very educational,
but occassionally a bit distubing ..

The Dream …

I had a dream when I was young
That life would be a lot of fun.
But with the passing of the years,
It drowned beneath a sea of tears.

While walking on the shore of time,
I watched the tide come in.
The wreckage of that youthful dream,
Was slowly drifting in.

A beating heart must surely scream
And wish to stop – without a dream!
And so I try to dream again,
To play once more, in life’s sick game.

I close the curtains and drift away,
From another pointless day!
Then reluctantly, again I wake
In… Continue

ONCE APON A TIME …

Once upon a time
A boy met a girl.
They talked for many hours
And appeared to get on well.

In each other they believed
They’d found a very special treasure.
For each time they met
Their hearts would dance –
It was always such a pleasure.

Geography seemed the only thing
To be standing in their way –
Of enjoying each other’s company
Each and every day.

The solution was an obvious one
And hence they swiftly planned their wedding.
Oblivious to the inevitable fate
On the path that they were headin… Continue

The Party Animal

Mr Party animal,
Is now stuck in a cage!
Which isn’t that unusual,
For mammals of his age.

Freedom vanished suddenly!
He’s now awoken from the dream.
And he longs to turn the clock back
To when he was nineteen.

Responsibility and commitment.
Form the bars that lock him in.
It begun the day he took those vows
And received a golden ring!

In the hour glass of life,
It seems the sand is gaining speed.
But only when the sands all gone
Is he likely to be freed!

His memories are the DJ
Who plays th… Continue

The unbalanced world of obscene extremes

Some have too much sun
Others too much rain
Our pleasure rarely lasts for long
Unlike when we’re in pain!

There is the rich
There is the poor
I have no car
You have four!

Some have a mansion
And drink martini on the rocks.
While others drink themselves to death
Inside their cardboard box!

There is blessing or a curse
There is for better or for worse
This is the world we’re all living in
This is the world we’re all breathing in

It’s an unfair world both today and in the past
And a crazy kind… Continue

UN HUGABLE LOVE

I know that on the cross,
God’s love was shown me there.
But convince my vacant arms,
The embrace they lack is prayer!

You might advise me to focus on heaven.
Where every need is met.
But I don’t believe my journey there,
Is due to start just yet.

You might suggest I need a stronger faith
But faith my hand can’t squeeze.
This famine of affection
Is like a bitter winter breeze!

Have I not prayed hard enough?
Is it so sinful that I pine?
For my heart desires a loving touch
Which I don’t find in… Continue
