My soul's deepest desire
Is to be a spark,
That will set our church afire.
And that we may be,
A marvelous hallowed choir --
Singing holy songs,
That will make lost souls aspire,
First, to hear the word
And then through Jesus acquire
Salvation's free gift.
Lord I want to do
What you want me to.
To be a spark
That lights the dark
And draws lost souls to you.
Oh Lord this is my quest
My sincerest goal,
To achieve my utmost best
Ever serving You.
Make me worthy of the test
Striving to endure.
Until on that day most blest --
When our Lord returns,
Oh let me be obsessed,
With glorifying you.
Lord I want to do
What you want me to.
To be a spark
That lights the dark
And draws lost souls to you.

Great poem Padre Bob. I love the feeling of sincerity I get when reading it. Very moving and emotional. Thank you for sharing this piece of your heart with us.
